The Community Cluster is all about Hospitality. We are the group that is working to keep St Paul’s welcoming and friendly for all. We include groups working on communications/our website, ushers/greeters, newcomers group, parish life events, congregation-wide events from Shrove Tuesday to Start Up Sunday BBQ, coffee hour teams, and Pastoral care lay people and clergy.

Your suggestions are always welcome. Your support will go a long way towards making all of us feel included and welcomed at St Paul’s.

Cathedral Arts

Taize At St. PaulsConcerts and Art Exhibits at St. Paul’s Cathedral have a special ‘niche’ in the arts world of Greater Burlington – and beyond. As a church our space is principally liturgical in function, while as an arts venue in Burlington it is eagerly sought out for its superior acoustics and flexible seating as well as unique light, neutral color and height. Part of the declared intention in the design of the current building was to provide a welcoming space for the arts in many forms.  The current Cathedral Arts calendar is here.

Taize At St. PaulsIt is our on-going mission to join artists from across Vermont in celebrating our common life in the faith communities of our wonderful and diverse Episcopal Church. We seek to share our gifts, collaborate with others and enrich our spiritual lives through expressions in the visual arts.

Integrity

Taize At St. PaulsIntegrity in Vermont celebrates and witnesses to the Episcopal Church and the LGBT community God's embracing love, working for full inclusion in all the sacraments. We strive to be a place of sanctuary, healing, inclusion, transformation, justice and compassion. 

2014 Pride Planning Committee kudos from Kim Fountain:  Wow-you are amazing.  Thank you so much for the incredible work you all did for an entire YEAR!!! Rock on.  Pride this year was above and beyond awesome. I am still unable to put two words together well because there is so much swirling around in my head, but what is crystal clear is that you all worked so hard and for so long and it paid off. Congratulations.

 

Pastoral Care

Taize At St. Pauls

We believe that a ministry of care and support for all of St. Paul’s parishioners binds us together and strengthens us as a Christian community of faith.  It is essential to have a dedicated and skilled group of lay volunteers who visit those who are in need for whatever reason – perhaps because they are hospitalized, in nursing or rehabilitation homes, or are homebound temporarily or long-term, or grieving.  Our clergy will nurture and expand the Eucharistic visitors to include a broad cross-section of parishioners.  We will implement more ways to support parishioners who have difficulty getting to church with rides and check-in calls during the week. 

Salvation Army Dinner

Taize At St. PaulsEvery fifth Friday of the year, St. Paul's prepares and serves a dinner for our neighbors in Burlington at the Salvation Army at 64 Main Street.

20s/30s Fellowship

Taize At St. PaulsIn the past, there has been a vibrant 20s/30s group at St. Paul's that gathered monthly for dinners, movies and book discussions.  At the current time, there is not a formal group or leader for this population at St. Paul's.
