Spirituality: Adults
Adult Forum
The questions don’t stop after age 18—in fact, many might agree that our hunger for faith-based conversation and spiritual exploration only grows as we age. The Adult Forum meets on Sunday mornings after the Eucharist downstairs in the Parish Hall most weeks during the program year (mid-September until the end of May). Ranging from discussions about books we are reading together, to focused Bible study, to topical issues like environmental theology or what a Christian politics might look like, the Adult Forum promises great conversation (and coffee!). Typically, four to six Sundays will be dedicated to a theme, but we’re happy to have people join the conversation at any point—no homework involved! All are welcome.

Adult Confirmation
The Cathedral's Adult Confirmation Study is for adults who are interested in being confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church or in reaffirming their baptismal vows. This class offers a time and place for adults to reflect on their faith, examine their spiritual journeys, and deepen their commitment to Christ and the Church. Through weekly meetings for prayer and study, reading and reflection, and through liturgical participation during Lent, Holy Week and the Great Vigil of Easter, participants prepare to take the next step in their Christian lives.

Retreats
Like all relationships, our relationship with God needs intentional care and attention, too. At times, we need to step away from the busyness and chaos of our everyday life and turn our whole selves to God for a period of time. Cathedral retreats are offered on an occasional basis, often during Advent and in Lent. These retreats usually begin on a Friday evening and continue until Saturday afternoon. Thematic meditations are offered as well as time for focused silence, prayer, and your own reflections.
