Social Justice and Outreach
The Social Justice Ministry of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul strives for justice through prayer, advocacy and action. We do this through our direct outreach work, our advocacy, preaching in church, and through philanthropy.
Social Justice Outreach liaisons serve as champions for social justice within the congregation by sharing information, convening social justice events, and facilitating calls to action. Our desire is to be a catalyst for justice within St. Paul’s, the Burlington area, our nation, and the world. The ministry’s work is built on six local organizations selected for the good work they are doing in our local community, and whose missions are structured on biblical foundational principles.
Cathedral liaisons support: COTS, Migrant Justice, Spectrum Youth & Family Center, the Joint Urban Ministry Project (JUMP), Feeding Champlain Valley, and the Elmwood Community Shelter.
In addition to these organizations, our members are involved in various projects and activities, based on individual interests and passions. Whether it’s for information, networking, prayer, or action on behalf of justice, we welcome your gifts! You are invited to join in our work of extending God's love and compassion through our efforts to promote human dignity, justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.
